Rdio Secret Hidden Features
Even if you’re in the middle of listening to a great album or playlist, sometimes you stumble upon something you absolutely must hear immediately, but after that is done, you want what was just playing to resume. There’s a trick for that.
Holding down the Command (on Mac) or Control (on PC) button when you click any of the buttons below will play the new thing, but also add the currently playing music to your queue, and resume it when what you clicked on has finished.
- Album Play button. Plays the new album, and then resumes what was playing.
- Song Play button. Plays the song (and the rest of the album or playlist, if that’s where you found the song), and then resumes what was playing.
- Artist Radio button. Starts Artist Radio, and then resumes what was playing.
- Next button (in the Player). Skips ahead to the next thing (song, album, playlist etc.) in the queue. We call these things in the queue sources.
Other Web Player Navigation
- Spacebar = play/pause
- [ ] or ← → = previous/next track
- Click a song’s elapsed time in the web player to view the time remaining
- Command (Mac) or Control (Windows) + u = quickly view the Now Playing screen
Play everything by an Artist in your Collection
Select an Artist while viewing your Collection, then click the play button in the header (next to the Artist’s name), and all the artist’s Albums/Songs in your Collection will be added to your Queue for playback.
Click the Player’s Shuffle button to randomly play through all the Artist’s songs from your Collection. [source]
